Factors which combine to lead to a better quality of planning results.

  • 83 percent say they would probably or definitely recommend IBM to other companies

With its flexible development environment approach, Planning Analytics offers considerable flexibility to users wanting to address various planning and analytics use cases on one integrated platform.

“Top-ranked” in 20 KPIs

In the Planning Survey 17, IBM Planning Analytics was “top ranked” in 20 different KPIs. The BARC analysts included a very complimentary description of IBM Planning Analytics (the successor to Cognos TM1). They billed it as a “scalable planning and analysis product used in thousands of implementations worldwide, from small-scale departmental scenarios with just a few users and small data volumes to installations with thousands of users.”

The rankings that mean the most

The top rankings that we’re most proud of were for business value, customer satisfaction and ease of use. These are also the ones that probably mean the most to users.

For example, in business value, BARC said, “Business benefits like increased transparency of planning, improved integration of planning with reporting/analysis, better quality of planning results, and more precise/detailed planning are regularly achieved with Planning Analytics.”

Then, in customer satisfaction, BARC said that the results place IBM “comfortably ahead of its rivals…” And, in ease of use, they said, “With its Excel user interface, customers confirm that Planning Analytics is easy to use compared to other software generalist’s tools. As a result, IBM is top-ranked for ease of use in [its] peer group.”
